David Barton provides internal L&D consulting services to the National Park Service, particularly in terms of distance learning solutions. As an instructional designer, he works with teams of SMEs and program managers to develop blended learning curricula and advise on effective learning strategies.
In his previous capacity with the Department of the Army, David instructed soldiers and civilians in instructional design and learning technologies, earning recognition as the Army Civilian Instructor of the Year in 2012.
David earned graduate degrees in business and instructional technology from Western Carolina and East Carolina. He is a past featured blogger for GovLoop, a Certified Virtual Facilitator Trainer & Certified Virtual Event Producer, a Board Member of the Charlotte Chapter of the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI), and member of FGDLA, ATD, ISPI, & the eLearning Guild.
