Meet the Government Producers Panel - FREE TO ALL ATTENDEES | ROOM 201

If you want to network with government video producers who hire outside contractors for their projects the “Meet the Government Producers” (MGP) panel hosted by TIVA-DC is for your. For the thirteenth year in a row, TIVA (formerly ITVA-DC) will continue its tradition of putting GV Expo attendees directly in touch with government video decision makers. Video professionals from the private sector should bring lots of copies of their resumes and demo reels to this mega-networking event. Video producers from the federal government, and from AARP, (the largest government lobby organization in the World,) will be encouraged to talk about their current projects, describe opportunities to contract with their production facilities, and interact directly with the audience. Some of these organizations contract with individuals, independent producers, writers, editors, and talent on an as needed basis. Others contract for complete production packages from conception to completion. There are ample opportunities for qualified video professionals to find work.

KEYNOTE ADDRESS: FTC Uses Video as Their Weapon in the Fight Against Online Scams

There are a lot of scams out there. But, if more people viewed some of the videos produced by the Federal Trade Commission, there would be a lot fewer. The FTC has been fighting back against the onslaught of scams and slippery deals we're offered every day, producing its own set of videos on several topics. Nat Wood, an architect of the FTC's approach, will deliver this keynote address at Government Video Expo. Wood is responsible for the creation of Admongo.gov, which makes innovative use of video in an interactive game. The site is designed for tweens to play and learn about the advertising all around them. Amoung the FTC videos aimed at grown-ups, a snappy musical retort to those ubiquitous guys pitching the free credit report. Videos are available at FTC.gov/videos and YouTube.com/FTCVideos
